Well, after almost 36 hours, I’ve finally been able to claim my blog at technorati.com.
To recap a little, about 11 pm Sunday night I thought I’d join technorati.com to help promote this blog–that is one of the advertised purposes of the site. It took about 3 hours and 8 emails to reset my password and to change my ID–because the system wouldn’t recognize my ID and/or password for about 3 hours.
OK, I joined–finally.
Then, I kept trying to claim my blog through the OpenID Method–and when I got to the Complete Claim Step (the LAST step) the system kept sending me to the second step to claim my blog.
I exchanged comments with Support a number of time. I think you can understand my frustration and anger.
Finally, it was suggested I use the Post Claim Method which I have just done. (The Support person said they would investigate why the OpenID Claim Method didn’t work–as well they should.)
And it worked!
Now y’all better start reading my blogs.

It is now almost 24 hours–and counting–since I first started signing up for technorati.com. That took almost 2 hours–and 8 emails to rejoin and/or reset my password because the system didn’t recognize either my ID and/or my password.
I have been in contact with the Support Staff through a blog–of course–who just recommended I do the OpenID method again. I tried this today another 10 or 20 times–on top of the 10, 20, 30 times last night.
I actually got an error message, twice, regarding the OpenID Method–but then that disappeared.
It was mentioned if I had tried the other methods to do something I quite honestly do not understand. But why should I try something else when the OpenID method works, but the Complete Claim button does not connect to the end of the process.
I do actually get to claim my blog–this blog, of course–but then when I try to Customize the blog details and I click the Finish Button I go back to the claim method.
And I try the OpenID Method once again. . . .and again. . . . .and again. . . .and again. . . .and again.
A few years ago, I tried to join technorati.com after reading about it in Antonia Zerbezias’ column in the Toronto Star. After umpteen times trying, I just gave up.
I am on the verge of giving up again.
This is a bloody waste of time.

This evening has been a pretty boring time–trying to claim a blog at Technorati.com.
It took about an hour–or more, I’ve just lost track–8 emails and an lot of expletives before I could get an account to actually work. Each time I tried to log on with the then current ID and password, well, there was no such ID and/or password in the system.
When I finally got that to work I could only get so far in claiming this blog when it got stuck in the Complete Claim stage–I just got sent around and around and around times beyond number. I never got beyond the communicate between Technorati and wordpress page.
I remember some time ago trying the same thing and getting so frustrated that I just gave up.
This time I posted a comment to the support blog. Maybe, in a few days, after the Holiday–which may not be a holiday wherever the Technorati staff are–this glitch might be fixed.
I really do not think the process of joining and claiming a blog should not take hours.
Now, if I were truly stupid or something, maybe it would. But there is clearly something wrong with the site.
I think, though, there is something wrong with the site–I wish they would just fix it.
